A Maternity session on Sauvie Island
Heather and Mike are living a life one can only dream of. Surrounded by their furry friends and enough space to frolic around forever.
Sauvie Island is one of my favorite places to visit anytime of year. It’s filled with small farms, beaches and nature preserves. You can enjoy cider, corn on the cob and go on a spooky corn maze during the fall at Bella organic farm. In late spring/ early summer, you can pick your own lavender at Sweet Delilah farm. And in the summer you can enjoy the sun (clothing optional) at Collins Beach. Sauvie Island is one of the most difficult places to rent or buy a home in or near Portland, Oregon, so when Heather reached out asking to do a maternity session on their rented property, I was elated! Their house sits on about 10 acres of land, the perfect location to raise an adventurous little one.
Heather and Mike aren’t the only ones that get to enjoy this sweet home, they have a pack of the cutest rescue dogs and a couple of kitties too. Not only is Heather a dog rescue advocate, she is also the owner of Pup Talk PDX, a professional adventure dog walking business that provides structured daily exercise for canine companions on their property and surrounding trails.
Heather and Mike are the most warm hearted & kind humans and I had the best time meeting them.
Since this session, I’ve had the privilege of working with them multiple times and I can say with all honesty, they ARE the cool mom & dad.
